The room Switcher-oo

We had a very busy weekend. It was finally time for Hayden to have his own room, so we spent Friday and Saturday cleaning, painting, moving furniture and cleaning again. The girls now share the not-so-girly jungle room, and Hayden moved into a new, blue Star Wars themed room. The boy is ecstatic- and he is keeping it so clean! I'm not quite ready for Ellie to be in a big girl bed- although I'm sure she is- so we just moved her crib into the room with Chloe. They are not as intent on keeping their room clean as Hayden. Okay, they aren't even trying. BUT, they are having fun with all of the babies and princesses and ponies all in one area. Plus, the princess nightlight is a huge hit, and goes well with the 8 foot elephant. My favorite part, I must admit, is the fact that every night I can say to Hayden in my best Yoda voice, "may the sleep be with you." I think I'm funny, but I'm the only one.

Snow Much Fun!

We had a little snow day today. We decided that this might be our last chance of the year, so we hopped in the ol' SUV and headed north! 3 hours (and one delicious Bun Huggers lunch later) we were at the top of Snowbowl, right next to the "NO SLEDDING" signs. Rats. Since we missed the primo sledding weather in January and February b/c AC was working, the official sledding hill was closed. What to do, what to do. Apparently, the correct answer is park in the farthest parking lot from the ski lifts, then walk past the "No Sledding" signs and find a nice little spot to in which to use such sleds. Which we did.

The kids had a blast, and, thanks to Natalie, the girls stayed relatively dry and warm. Okay, it was 48 degrees up there at 9000 feet, so hypothermia wasn't really a threat. But still- nothing is worse than wet pants. Just ask Hayden. He is a trooper, however, and didn't complain once that his clothes were soaked through, until I made him sit in a snowbank for one final picture. Mommy is always pushing it. Chloe did get a little snowpack in her gloves, which made her very unhappy. She's more of a beach type of girl than a snow bunny, even though she is adorable in powder pink snow clothes.
The only downside was the 5.5 hours in the car today. I think Hayden asked "Are we a quarter of the way home yet?" about 50 times. We weren't even 1/16th of the way home at that point. But they are good little travellers, and quite the fun companions.
Next year, we are aiming for an official sledding hill. We are not cut out for the outlaw life!

Goodbye, Gracie Girl

We had to put our sweet dog down on Wednesday. Gracie had arthritis, which we were working on, which led us to find her cancer on her liver and spleen. Apparently it was the worst kind a dog can have, and non-treatable. We'll miss you, Gracie. You were a very sweet dog.
And here she is doing her favorite thing in the whole world- LICKING! Abi is getting quite the wash.

Hayden's first game

Hayden had his first game last night, and it was so fun! He's on farm league this year, so no more Tee. They use this funky pitching machine- like a mini-catapult. Hayden was the first batter for the Padres, and got the first hit! His first non-tee single of his hopefully long and illustrious baseball career.
AC is an assistant coach, so that was fun to watch as well. The Padres lost 1-0, but it was a good first game!
And I would like everyone to notice his excellent form at bat.
